Training

Since late 2008 Fynn Consulting has been working with IBM to develop and deliver training course in the new web development technology, XPages. We can offer either a one day training course which will get your developers up and going with real world code samples. Fynn Consulting is proud to be the lead developer in partnership with Elguji Software of the popular and well respected IdeaJam and LinkJam applications.

IdeaJam

IdeaJam is the market leading idea management solution developed by Fynn Consulting and Elguji which will run on your existing Lotus Domino servers.

IdeaJam won the Breakout Technology and CTO Innovation awards as well as being first runner up in the Best In Showcase Awards at Lotusphere 2009.

LinkJam

LinkJam is the innovative new social bookmarking tool developed by Fynn Consulting and Elguji which will run on your existing Lotus Domino servers.

 Below is a list of some of our most recent consulting projects...

A Large European Agency (2009)

This agency needed to upgrade its Lotus Notes Time Recording application to be web based. Taking advantage of the scabaility, performance and development time improvements offered by XPages, FCL was contracted to help with the development. The new application supports five different types of user and up to 2,000 concurrent users.

UK Lotus User Group (2009)

The UK Lotus User Group is a small, but growing annual conference run by UK based IBM business partners. FCL was contracted to design a new web based conference management application for the 2009 event. The application had to use the latest technology and allow multiple organisers to register and manage up to five hundred conference attendees, speakers and sponsors.

A leading CRM application provider (2009)

We helped this firm make customisations to their web based CRM application for a new client. The project had very tight deadlines and a lot of changes to be made to the application with minimal time for training and testing.

A small Financial Planning Firm (2008)

We helped this small firm with the existing Notes infrastructure to implement new integration points with Microsoft Office to generate reports, meeting forms and sales brochures for their clients.

A "Big Six" Accounting Firm (2008)

We helped this large accounting firm with a Web Service integration project. We designed, developed and implemented a series of Web Services hosted on Lotus Domino 7.0.2 which integrated with a Microsoft Office and .Net application.

A Leading UK Lotus Consultancy (2008)

We were asked by this Lotus consultancy to help run user acceptance testing for an application they had developed onsite at their client’s premises. This involved dealing with the client’s senior IT managers, fixing bugs and the writing and implementing of specifications for future versions of the application.

A Large US Aviation Fuel Supplier (2007/08) 

This US based company asked us to help develop several smaller Lotus Notes applications including an XML invoice generation tool which queries a SQL Server database and sends invoices to clients on a daily basis, conforming to industry standard XML Schemas.

Allianz – CORES (2007/08)

This large enterprise level application for complex property insurance was developed using Lotus Domino, Oracle and JBoss elements. The work involved complex DHTML and AJAX front end development coupled with writing a J2EE application which performed all integration tasks with Oracle and other external applications using web services and Hibernate.

Allianz – DUET (2006/07)

We joined this project which provides an online insurance quoting application for the cargo industry to add extra features to the system. These included bringing the front end web application more up to date with use of the latest AJAX techniques,making the certificate generation website multi lingual, and adding some Javadeveloped functionality to the back end using web services and PDF generation. The application was awarded second place in the British Insurance Awards 2007.

Stenflo Konsult (2006)

This small Stockholm based consultancy asked us to provide training and development assistance for their team using “AJAX” development techniques with Lotus Domino. We created some sample databases to enable the consultancy to bid for new project work over the following few months.

A large European Investment Bank
(2001-06)

We led a team to create a  completely new “work in progress” application for around 1,000 users in the Corporate Finance and Equity Capital Markets Divisions. The application consists of a proprietary configurable workflow engine and security model.

A large Euqopean Investment Bank (2001-06)

We were brought into this 120,000 Notes seat investment bank to take the lead role in the development of a Domino version of the bank’s CRM system known as CIDAR. Several constraints were imposed on the design, including the continued use of R4.5 clients to access the application data while the Domino server ran R5 (since upgraded to ND6 and 7). Despite these limitations, we designed and implemented a user interface which took advantage of DHTML and Java Servlets to make a quick, secure and easy to use application. The initial user base was around 7,000, but the system was designed to support a significantly larger proportion of the bank’s staff.
